Jokowi To Luhut Regarding Investment Licensing At KIPI Kaltara: Don't Wait To Use Days Or Weeks, But Count Hours To Look We Are Serious

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requested that the permit process in the Indonesian Green Industrial Estate (KIHI), North Kalimantan, be completed in a matter of hours. He also emphasized that he did not want to hear about late investment related permits.

"Regarding permits, don't wait for the day to use Sunday, nothing. (In a matter of) hours, take it out to show that we are serious," he said at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Indonesian green industrial area (KIHI) in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, today, Tuesday, December 21.

Jokowi also said this had been conveyed to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Therefore, Jokowi asked that there be no more late permits.

"Regarding the development of this area, I don't want to hear again that the permit is late, the permit has not yet been completed, no. I already conveyed to the Minister of Communication and Invesment there was no such thing as being late, no, properly escorted," he said.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta also asked his staff to tell him directly if they found problems related to investment.

"If there is something very important that we want to finish and not finish, tell me," he said.

Jokowi also asked the police and local regional heads to oversee the Indonesian Green Industrial Estate project in East Kalimantan, so that there would be no small problems.

"I ask the Kapolda, Kapolres, Pangdam, Kodim, Governor, Regent to oversee in detail this area so that it is conducive and safe. So that investment can really accelerate development here, so that there are no small problems," he said.
