Erick Thohir Hopes The 2021 National Discount Festival Can Increase Economic Passion

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir hopes that the 2021 National Discount Festival can increase the enthusiasm of the national economy. Not only that but this event is also considered to be able to encourage the growth of optimism for business actors in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Hopefully this initiative can play a role in turning the wheels of the economy and bring optimism to business players in Indonesia and the wider community in the context of national economic recovery," he said at the virtual opening of the National Discount Festival, in Jakarta, Saturday, December 4.

Erick said the festival will be held in Jakarta, with the tagline #JAKARTAPUNYADISKON.

After holding a similar festival in 2020, said Erick, the Ministry of SOEs collaborated again to say this year's National Discount Festival. The goal is for the Indonesian economy to revive and rise again.

"This is an event that aims to encourage consumer purchasing power. With various attractive discounts offered by quality local MSME product merchants," he said.

Erick Thohir said this event is expected to be a forum that opens opportunities to celebrate collaboration through shopping festivals and special discounts for local products made in Indonesia as the Proudly Made Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BB1).

"I fully support Gernas BBI, especially in the event we are doing together today. Let's continue to increase our purchasing power, of course. During the period from 1-31 December 2021," he explained.

For your information, the National Discount Festival will be enlivened with various activities such as Flash Sale, Pop, Visual Expo, MSME Bazaar, Live Shopping, FDN Market and Pop Up Store programs.
