RI's Exports Are Increasingly Smooth, BPS Records October Period Reaches 22 Billion Dollars

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the value of Indonesia's exports in October 2021 reached US$22.03 billion, an increase of 6.89 percent compared to exports in September 2021.

Head of BPS Margo Yuwono said the book last month also recorded an increase of 53.33 percent from October 2020.

In detail, Margo explained that non-oil and gas exports in October 2021 reached 21.00 billion US dollars, up 6.75 percent compared to September 2021, and up 52.75 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in October 2020.

"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports from January to October 2021 reached 186.32 billion, an increase of 41.80 percent compared to the same period 2020. Likewise, non-oil and gas exports reached 176.47 billion US dollars, an increase of 41.26 percent," said the Head of BPS. in a virtual press conference today, Monday, November 15.

Furthermore, the largest increase in non-oil and gas exports in October 2021 compared to September 2021 occurred in mineral fuel commodities of US$ 23.3 million (26.59 percent). Meanwhile, the largest decline occurred in machinery and electrical equipment and its parts by 105.5 million US dollars (10.04 percent).

Meanwhile, according to sector, non-oil and gas exports from the processing industry from January to October 2021 rose 35.53 percent compared to the same period 2020. Likewise, exports of agricultural products rose 5.17 percent and exports of mining and other products rose 87.70 percent.

Furthermore, the largest non-oil and gas export in October 2021 was to China, which was 5.93 billion US dollars, followed by the United States 2.34 billion US dollars and Japan 1.41 billion US dollars.

“The contribution of the three reached 46.10 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) were respectively US$3.55 billion and US$1.54 billion,” he said.

Then according to the province of origin, Indonesia's largest exports in January-October 2021 came from West Java with a value of 27.60 billion US dollars (14.82 percent), followed by East Kalimantan 19.03 billion US dollars (10.21 percent) and Java East 18.76 billion billion US dollars (10.07 percent).
