PRAYA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi checked the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure for the World Superbike (WSBK) racing event at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

"We want to ensure the readiness of transportation connectivity, both land, sea and air to support the WSBK race at the Mandalika Circuit," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi while reviewing WSBK preparations at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit in Praya, Wednesday, November 10.

The Minister of Transportation's arrival was accompanied by the Governor of NTB Zulkieflimansyah, the NTB Police Chief Inspector General M Iqbal, the Directors of MGPA and ITDC and officials of the NTB Provincial Government.

"This circuit is extraordinary, all preparations have been prepared, both for disaster protection and other events during the race," said the Minister of Transportation.

The central government has designated the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as one of the five national strategic Priority Scale Destinations (DSP).

"This will be able to encourage the economic growth of the people of NTB," he continued.

To support WSBK and MotoGP activities at the Mandalika Circuit, supporting facilities have been developed such as at Lombok Airport, Kayangan Harbor, Gili Mas and Bangsal Harbor.

"The development of other supporting facilities including the Airport-Mandalika Bypass road has been completed, it is to support tourism development in the SEZ and this circuit," said Budi Karya.

After the WSBK race begins, people are not allowed to use private vehicles to enter the circuit area. So that the Ministry of Transportation together with the Provincial Government has provided special transportation buses in the area to carry residents or tourists who come to watch the race.

"We have prepared a mobile bus at every entry point to the circuit and will move at any time," added the Minister of Transportation.

Budi Karya also said that in order to improve transportation connectivity between Padang Bai Port in Bali, Poto Tano Port in Sumbawa, Gili Mas and Bangsal, fast boats have been prepared.

"So the islands of Bali, Sumbawa and Lombok are connected," he said.

The Governor of NTB, Zulkiflimansyah said, NTB was ready to host the IATC and WSBK, preparations had been made to make these activities a success.

"This will be a new destination in NTB, so that it can increase the economic growth of the community," he said.
