Passengers At Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport Soared By Almost 100 Percent In October 2021, The Most Destination For Jakarta

JAKARTA - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, recorded a 98 percent growth in passengers served in October 2021 compared to the previous month.

In October 2021, Ngurah Rai Airport served 464,390 passengers. This number increased from the record in September 2021, which was 234,939 people.

"I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport - Bali, in accordance with the recap of air transport traffic data, recorded a growth of up to 98 percent of passengers in October 2021 compared to the previous month," said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali Herry. The increase in the number of passengers was also followed by an increase in the number of aircraft served. Throughout last October, Ngurah Rai Airport recorded 3,697 aircraft movements, an increase compared to the record 2,040 aircraft movements during September 2021, an increase of 81 percent.

The three most popular origin routes in October 2021 are Jakarta with 136,529 passengers, Surabaya with 29,973 passengers, followed by Ujung Pandang with 16,173 passengers. Meanwhile, the three routes have the highest number of 132,367 passengers heading to Jakarta, 29,426 passengers to Surabaya and Ujung Pandang with 14,175 passengers.

Herry Sikado said that the positive growth of passengers and aircraft in October 2021 has so far also become the highest achievement trend during 2021.

According to him, the increase in passenger and aircraft growth at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport also continues to be balanced with various efforts to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.

"Of course we also focus on health protocols at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport so that passengers can fly healthy and safe, as an effort to anticipate the spread of the pandemic," he said.

His party will also continue to synergize with the Port Health Office and airlines to ensure that all prospective passengers must have their health documents checked before departing and ensure that passengers' COVID-19 test results are fit to fly.

"This is very important considering the declining condition of COVID-19 which we have to take care of. Currently there are 10 units of PeduliLindung self-checking facilities, so all health documents have been digitized," said Herry Sikado.

He also appealed to prospective passengers to ensure that their health documents are integrated with the PeduliLindung application so that they do not experience problems at the airport.

"Hopefully the implementation of easier flight requirements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport can further increase the number of tourists heading to the island of Bali, along with disciplined health protocols," he said.
