No Controversy, 7 Years Already Jimmy Fallon Turns On The Tonight Show

JAKARTA - February 17th, 2014 will be a memorable date for host Jimmy Fallon. He began his career as the host of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC, replacing Jay Leno who previously hosted The Tonight Show for 22 years.

Being a new presenter for a very iconic event made Fallon have to present something new so that the audience would still want to watch The Tonight Show.

Jimmy Fallon isn't entirely new to the world of comedy. After leaving campus in 1995, he recruited a manager and became a comedian at the age of 21. He also starred in a number of major films after joining the comedy troupe, Groundlings.

The man who was born on September 19 explored the world of television by becoming a member of Saturday Night Live, his biggest dream when he started his career as a comedian. Yes, SNL is a classic comedy show that has been broadcasting for more than 40 years.

Thanks to the ability to imitate a number of artists, Jimmy Fallon managed to make the audience and SNL team laugh. Many people have told him that SNL creator Lorne Michaels never laughs when he sees auditioners - but Fallon changed Michaels drastically.

After the comedy, Jimmy Fallon left SNL and developed his acting career. He had to split the time filming in Los Angeles and shooting SNL in New York City. As a result, he quit SNL production in 2004.

In 2004, Fallon starred in the film Taxi as Andrew Washburn. With the popularity he holds, in fact, it does not have a big impact on Taxi sales. This film received bad ratings and negative criticism. Then there is the Wheel of Musical Impressions, a segment featuring guests and Fallon having to imitate the character of a public figure according to the answer in the wheel. Jimmy Fallon managed to turn on The Tonight Show as an entertaining program.

Jimmy Fallon's success is aided by his unquestionable musical abilities. When recruited to host The Tonight Show, Fallon brought his house band, The Roots.

The Roots, who accompanied Fallon since the Late Night era, received great attention through The Tonight Show. They are able to present music that is different from other television house bands.

One example is the performance of A Capella, which was delivered by The Roots with various musicians and film players. Their performance with Star Wars: The Force Awakens performers singing the medley of the opening theme of the Star Wars film has seen more than 123 million views.

Or in the Classroom Instrument segment where The Roots and Jimmy Fallon along with singers sing their hits accompanied by children's toys and makeshift musical instruments just like in class.

Fallon's comedic skills also always know places and boundaries. Thanks to the comedy classes he took early in his career, Fallon never stumbled into controversy as long as he hosted The Tonight Show.

Thanks to Fallon, many videos from the show have gone viral and rivaled other television shows. YouTube channel subscribers of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon also reached 27 million and became the highest channel for a talk show.

It is known, Jimmy Fallon signed a contract with The Tonight Show until the end of 2021. It is not known whether Fallon will continue or end the contract.
