Indonesian Warganet And Bokep: How Do We Follow Pornography?

JAKARTA - Social media is being enlivened by conversations about the circulation of pornographic videos featuring a figure similar to the actress and singer, Gisella Anastasia aka Gisel. The topic even dominates the list of trending topics on Twitter. Indonesia is said to be very fond of pornography. Is it true?

Monitored Saturday afternoon, November 7, at 17.29 WIB, the discussion about Gisel-like pornographic videos dominated the list of trending topics. The top four lists, all about the porn video, most of which are about netizens' efforts to find the porn video.

Indonesia loves porn?

Are we really hooked on pornography? We present a number of data to measure our behavior towards pornography, especially on the internet.

Referring to data released by the Similarweb site in September 2019, it is known that Indonesian internet users are not among the ones who access pornography the most. If traced, there are at least 15 countries that most frequently access pornography on the internet.

The first country is Hong Kong, with an access ratio of close to five pages per visit to a porn site. Second is Norway with a ratio of 4.8. Third, there is the Netherlands which is close to the Norwegian ratio.

For Southeast Asian countries, Singapore is the most frequently accessing pornography. The population of Singapore is in fourth place with a ratio of around 4.7. Under Singapore, there are Denmark, Finland, Taiwan, and Switzerland. At the last place in 15, there is Australia whose ratio of access to pornography is around 4.

Although not classified as the country with the highest frequency of visits, Indonesian internet users are in fact at home surfing for pornography. Apart from calculating frequency, SimilarWeb also measures "Session".

Session is how long an internet user is on a site. Indonesia is included in this list, to be precise in the eleventh rank with an average session of 3 minutes 30 seconds.

First place is Kuwait, with an average session of 4 minutes 19 seconds. Under Kuwait, Singapore recorded an average session at 4 minutes.

With the exception of Singapore, the top five in this classification are dominated by Middle Eastern countries. Apart from Kuwait, the list also lists Saudi Arabia and Qatar at the top.

Related to other activities, namely sharing web-based pornographic content. Indonesia is also not listed in the top 15 list.

The country where internet users are most active in sharing web-based pornography is Iraq. After Iraq, there are Messir, Serbia, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, and a row of other countries.

Then, from where the world's internet surfers access pornography the most? Google, of course. Google recorded a percentage of up to 83.48 percent. Under Google, there is Yahoo, whose percentage margin is far below: 5.43 percent.
