JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPD Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin ensures that there is no song that can entice participants to dance in the 2026 MPR, DPR, and DPD Annual Meeting.

The annual session is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 14. According to the Sultan, the decision to eliminate the song with a sense of entertainment was taken after the committee evaluated the implementation of the previous annual session.

"Indeed, in this joint hearing, we have limited that there will be no more things, such as songs that will provoke the atmosphere, such as there is entertainment like that," said the Sultan to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday. yesterday.

He hopes that the annual sessions of the MPR, DPR, and DPD as well as the joint sessions of the DPR and DPD can take place more diligently, orderly, safe, and smoothly.

"So we hope that this annual and joint session will really run with diligence, run in an orderly, safe and smooth manner," he continued.

Sultan said that the elimination of songs that could entice participants to dance was part of an effort to maintain a solemn atmosphere for the trial. According to him, members of parliament who are representatives of the community need to show ethics and attitudes during the national agenda.

"As members of parliament, as members of the community's representatives, it is indeed necessary for us to maintain ethics and attitudes," he said.

Instead, the songs played in the annual sessions of the MPR, DPR, and DPD will be dominated by nationalism, struggle, and national songs. The Sultan said the selection of the songs was aimed at building a patriotic atmosphere, not to provoke participants to take spontaneous action, such as dancing together.

"The songs that will be shown are songs that are nationalistic, struggle so as to avoid movements that will later provoke in quotation marks as if what it is nuanced, as my friends just said," he said.
