Prabowo is concerned that national products are just branded, until he checks the Molinas factory

CIKARANG - President Prabowo Subianto revealed the reason why he wanted to see the National Electric Motor or Molinas factory. He wants to make sure that the vehicle is actually produced in Indonesia, not a product from abroad that is only stamped with a local brand.

Prabowo conveyed this when launching Molinas in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Thursday, August 13.

According to Prabowo, several months earlier he was shown an electric motorcycle developed by ALVA, GESITS and LEN. At that time he immediately asked to see the production facilities.

"When I was given a chance to see their motorcycles a few months ago, I said I wanted to see you have a factory. Is it true that your factory?" said Prabowo.

He then revealed his concerns about the practice of bringing products from abroad and then putting their own brands.

"Or maybe the company from where you just put your brand. Well, this, this is a lot of this kind of culture," he said.

Prabowo said the practice of using products from outside was still understandable as an initial step. However, the national industry must increase its ability to be able to master its own technology and production.

"Sometimes we are tempted and tempted, but it's okay, as a start it's okay. We can start, we have to be smart," he said.

According to Prabowo, the courage of national companies to build their own industries is important because the competition for electric vehicles is not light.

He said Indonesian manufacturers had to face the automotive industry of countries such as Japan, South Korea and China.

"Brother is still at risk. You face tremendous competition from great countries, Japan, Korea, China, and yet you still dare," said Prabowo.

During the event, Prabowo said the Indika group had produced 20,000 motorcycles. He challenged the production to increase to 200,000 to 2 million units.
