Deny Mangkir from the KPK Call, Rudy Tanoe Admits to Having Written a Request for a Rescheduling

JAKARTA - Bambang Rudijanto Tanoesoedibjo alias Rudy Tanoe's lawyer, Ricky HP Sitohang, denied that his client had missed an examination as a witness by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday, August 6. He said he had asked for a rescheduling with investigators.

"In principle, we will always be cooperative and continue to respect and comply with applicable legal procedures," Ricky said through his statement to reporters, Monday, August 9.

Ricky explained that the summons letter was received on Tuesday afternoon, August 4. However, Rudy could not attend because there was a schedule for a health examination.

This condition made the legal team visit the KPK Red and White building on Wednesday morning, August 5. They brought an official letter of request for a postponement of the examination as well as proposing a new schedule on August 11.

The letter of request, continued Ricky, had been received by the KPK and stamped. Coordination was also said to have been carried out with investigators whose number was stated in the call letter.

So, Ricky denied his client's accusations of avoiding the ongoing legal process.

"We will continue to respect all legal processes and follow the procedures set," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK has again investigated alleged corruption at the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos). A preliminary investigation order (sprindik) has been issued and the case is related to the distribution of social assistance (bansos).

The investigation has been underway since August this year and is an expansion of an earlier corruption case.

Three people have been named as suspects in this case, they are B. Rudijanto Tanoesoedibjo as President Commissioner of PT Dosni Roha Logistik; Edy Suharto as former Director General of Social Empowerment of the Ministry of Social Affairs and now serving as a specialist staff of the Minister of Social Affairs in the field of Social Change and Dynamics and Kanisius Jerry Tengker who is the President Director of PT Dosni Roha Logistik in 2020-2022.

Then, the KPK also named two corporate suspects, namely PT Dosni Roha Indonesia and PT Dosni Roha Logistik. However, the official announcement of the suspects has not been made.
