KPK Seizes Documents After Searching 15 Locations in the Pemalang Regent Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized a number of documents after searching 15 locations in four regions during August 5-8, 2026 related to the alleged extortion case that ensnared the inactive Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.

"From the search, investigators confiscated several documents, including documents related to projects that are and will be carried out at the Pemalang Regency PUPR (Public Works and Spatial Planning) Office," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta, Sunday.

Budi said the KPK also seized evidence in the form of mobile phones or HP to electronic documents from searches at 15 locations related to the case, namely ten houses in Pemalang, two houses in Tegal, two houses in Pekalongan, and one house in Semarang.

According to him, the houses belong to parties suspected of being related to the case.

"In addition, the investigation team also seized CCTV footage at a hotel located in Magelang," he said.

Furthermore, he said, evidence from the search at 15 locations and CCTV footage at a hotel in Magelang will be analyzed by KPK investigators.

"It is analyzed by investigators to strengthen the additional evidence needed in the investigation of this case, both to strengthen the construction of the case and to delve into the role of each party," he explained.

Previously, the KPK on July 28, 2026 carried out the 18th hand-in-hand operation carried out during 2026. One of the 21 people arrested in the operation was Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.

On July 30, 2026, the KPK announced the results of the OTT and stated that there were two clusters of cases.

First, the alleged extortion by Anom Widiyantoro against the Pemalang Regency Government and private parties. In this cluster, the suspect is Anom Widiyantoro and his trusted person, Mohamad Haris alias Gus Haris.

Second, the alleged extortion by the police and his father against Anom Widiyantoro. The suspect in this cluster is Setya Budi Dias as a police officer who is serving at the KPK along with his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto.
