The Minister of Social Affairs admits that the recruitment of students at the elementary level of People's Schools is still a challenge.

GRESIK - Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf revealed that the recruitment of elementary school (SD) students is still a major challenge in the implementation of people's schools. Many SD level quotas in various regions have not been met due to the factor that children are not ready to separate from their parents.

"Yes, at that age, they should still be with their parents and so on. Therefore, the President asked us to facilitate a meeting between parents and students at public schools," said Saifullah, who is familiarly known as Gus Ipul, Monday, August 3.

Gus Ipul emphasized that he admitted that he had prepared a special curriculum for elementary school students in public schools. Although public schools have the concept of boarding school or boarding school, parents of elementary school students are welcome at any time if they want to meet their children.

Meanwhile, for the middle and high school levels, students will still implement the boarding school curriculum. "Indeed, for elementary school, the approach is different from middle and high school. So all of this has been designed for the curriculum," he explained.

He continued, teachers in public schools are also ensured to have complete guidelines for teaching elementary students. His party emphasized that there are three things that must not happen in public schools, namely bullying, physical and sexual violence, and intolerance.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs also appreciated the Gresik Regency Government (Pemkab) which succeeded in meeting the quota for students of all levels of public schools, starting from elementary, middle, and high schools.

The integrated public school students in Racitengah Village, Sidayu District, Gresik, are evenly divided into three levels of education, namely 90 elementary school students, 90 junior high school students, and 90 high school students.

"Thank you, the Regent of Gresik, even though the SRT construction is not 100% complete, it can be occupied and meet the quota at each level," he concluded.
