Bogor City DPRD Chair: Red and White Festival Strengthens Nationalism and Creative Economy

BOGOR - Bogor City officially started the 2026 Red and White Festival (FMP) series as part of the 81st Anniversary (HUT) of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. This festival, which entered its 11th edition, was opened by Danrem 061/Suryakencana Brigjen TNI Thomas Rajunio at Makorem 061/Suryakencana, Friday, July 31 evening.

The opening marked the start of 17 national, social, cultural, and economic agendas that will take place throughout August to enliven the independence anniversary in Bogor City.

Entering its 11th year of implementation, the Red and White Festival continues to be committed to strengthening the spirit of nationalism, strengthening unity, and encouraging public participation in various national activities.

The Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Adityawarman Adil, who was present with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) expressed his appreciation for the consistency of the festival.

"The Red and White Festival is not just an annual agenda, but a meeting space for all elements of the Bogor City community to care for the national spirit. The Bogor City DPRD fully supports this 2026 FMP event, because in addition to fostering a sense of nationalism, this activity has also proven to be able to mobilize creative economic potential and strengthen the ties of friendship between residents," said Adityawarman.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the 2026 Red and White Festival Committee, Syahril M. Said, said that this year's implementation not only focuses on ceremonial activities, but is also directed at providing a real impact for the community.

According to him, this year's festival has the mission of strengthening the role of young generations, encouraging local economic growth, and strengthening tolerance and togetherness in the community.

"Our focus at this year's festival is how we can build a younger generation and help build the Bogor City economic wheel to become better," said Syahril.

He explained that one of the updates to the FMP 2026 was the involvement of houses of worship across religions as part of efforts to strengthen the values of tolerance and togetherness in Bogor City.

"Of course, there is a difference from the previous year. For this year, we also participate in empowering and partnering with houses of worship in Bogor City," he said.

During August, the public will be presented with various activities ranging from social actions, cultural art performances, to the tradition of raising and lowering the Red and White Flags every day at the Kujang Monument as an icon of Bogor City.

Through this series of activities, the 2026 Red and White Festival is expected to further strengthen unity, foster a spirit of love for the country, and mobilize the local economy through the involvement of the community and creative business actors.
