JAKARTA - The Banten Provincial Government admits that it cannot bear the cost of maintaining the Transjabodetabek bus stop that crosses the districts and cities in its province.
The limitations of the regional budget capacity and the ownership status of assets make the Banten Provincial Government not yet have a budget space to finance the maintenance of the bus stops which have been managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
Banten Governor Andra Soni said that Banten's fiscal condition is different from DKI Jakarta which has the status of a Special Region of Jakarta. The difference, according to him, affects the flexibility of the local government in managing the budget.
"Jakarta is alone, there are no districts/cities. So Jakarta has the special district law of Jakarta so that its flexibility is higher. Unlike us in Banten and other provinces, so that until now our fiscal capacity has not been able to participate," said Andra when met at Ciangir, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Friday, July 31.
Apart from the budget issue, Andra emphasized that Transjabodetabek stops in the Banten region are not assets owned by the Banten Provincial Government. Therefore, the provincial government does not have a legal basis to use the APBD in carrying out maintenance.
Although it has not been able to contribute to the financing of the bus stop, Andra ensured that the Banten Provincial Government would continue to support the development of the Transjabodetabek service, which connects Jakarta with the buffer area.
"We are always committed to helping support Jakarta's plans, to help support what Jakarta needs as long as we can implement it," said Andra.
Meanwhile, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung ensured that all Transjabodetabek stops in the Banten region were indeed managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"It's true that the stop in Banten happens to be entirely managed by DKI Jakarta," said Pramono.
According to Pramono, the condition of the Transjabodetabek stops in Banten is currently relatively good, including stops on the corridor serving routes to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, BSD, and Alam Sutera.
"Actually, most of them are also quite good towards the airport, towards BSD and so on, towards Alam Sutera, the hold is relatively good," he said.
Previously, Pramono admitted that the burden of subsidies for Transjabodetabek services borne by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continued to increase. One of the causes is that DKI must bear the cost of maintenance of stops outside its administrative area.
"Why is the subsidy so big now? Almost all the stops that are not in the Jakarta area we have to take care of. That is the reason why there will be adjustments," said Pramono, some time ago.
This condition is one of the considerations of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to increase tariffs on a number of Transjabodetabek routes. However, Pramono ensured that the subsidy scheme for Transjabodetabek services would still be maintained.
