Elderly in East Kelapa Gading Found Dead in a House

JAKARTA - An elderly woman (elderly) with the initials E alias Djun Lin (58) was found dead in her house on Jalan Serampang XII T/30, RT 08/07, Kelurahan Kelapa Gading Timur, Kecamatan Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta on Thursday, July 30, 2026, afternoon.

The discovery of the victim in a dead state had shocked residents around the victim's house. The reason is that from the location of the incident there was a bad smell.

Residents then reported to the Kelapa Gading Police. Kelapa Gading Police officers then headed to the scene to check.

From the scene, the police asked for information from two witnesses named Ida and Ripin. After the police entered the house, the victim was found lying with his body already rotting behind the locked room door at the back of the house.

According to the testimony of the witness Ida, at around 12.30 WIB, he was at home and was then informed by other residents that the victim had not left the house for 3 weeks. Then he smelled a bad smell from inside the house.

Ida and her colleagues also went to the crime scene and smelled the unpleasant smell directly from the victim's house. Furthermore, Ida asked Ripin, the local security guard to check into the victim's house.

After Ripin came out of the victim's house, he then told Ida that the unpleasant smell was very pungent behind the door of the victim's room. Ripin did not dare to open the victim's room.

Ida then reported the information to the Head of the RW and to the Satpol PP.

"We have identified and asked for information from witnesses at the Kelapa Gading Police to find out more information," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim to reporters.

Furthermore, the victim's body was taken to RSCM for a visum et repertum (VER).

"Meanwhile, the location of the incident has been installed with a police line for the purpose of further investigation," he said.

It is not yet known what caused the victim to die in his room. Until now, his case is still being handled by the Kelapa Gading Police for further investigation.
