Maruarar Says OJK Opens the Way for the People to Get Subsidized Houses without Obstacles

BATANG - Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Maruarar Sirait said that public access to subsidized houses had taken a long time to discuss with developers and the Financial Services Authority or OJK.

This was conveyed by Maruarar or Ara in the Mass Akad 62,000 Units of Subsidized House KPR and Rp880 billion Housing KUR in Batang Regency, Central Java, Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Ara said he had met the developers six times. The meeting was held to fight so that the community was not hindered from getting a house.

"I have been with the developer six times, to fight so that the people are not hindered from being able to have a house like this," said Ara.

He then asked the general chairmen of developer organizations to stand up. On that occasion, Ara mentioned a number of developer associations that were present and involved in the housing program.

Ara also touched on the role of the OJK Chairman, who he said gave space for the people to have greater access to housing financing.

"Only after the OJK Chairman, Mrs. Kiki, did the OJK allow the people to be given the opportunity," he said.

He called the move a pro-people attitude. According to Ara, the support of financial regulators is important because the subsidized housing program does not only depend on the availability of units, but also on access to financing.

In the subsidized KPR scheme, the community needs the support of banks, regulations, developers, and the government. If one of them is stalled, residents who need a house can be hampered.

Ara also highlighted the role of Himbara banks. He said BRI distributed the highest home mortgages, while BTN was the largest for subsidized houses.

The event in Batang was a mass akad event for 62,000 units of subsidized housing mortgages. The government also held a housing KUR worth Rp880 billion.

Ara emphasized that working together with the government, OJK, banks, TAPERA, and developers must continue to run so that the housing program can reach a wider community.
