BOGOR - The surge in HIV cases in Bogor City is a serious concern for the Bogor City DPRD. Deputy Chairman of the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) and Chairman of the Special Committee (Pansus) for Child Protection of the Bogor City DPRD, Endah Purwanti, said the results of the joint discussion with a number of stakeholders showed that the increase in HIV cases had become a serious challenge, especially for the younger generation.
According to Endah, about 50 percent of new HIV cases occur in the productive age group, so more comprehensive handling steps are needed through prevention, education, and strengthening of health services.
"This is a significant threat to the children and young generation of Bogor City. Therefore, more serious and integrated steps are needed to suppress the spread of cases," said Endah, in his statement, Tuesday, July 28.

"We will encourage a joint movement in order to commemorate Children's Day as an implementation of the P4S Regulation without having to wait for the Governor. Education and socialization can be implemented immediately," he said.
In addition, the DPRD will propose an increase in the budget ceiling in the discussion of the General Policy of the Regional Budget and the Priority of the Provisional Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) for the 2027 Fiscal Year to strengthen the education, socialization, early detection, and prevention of HIV transmission programs.
