JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports that China and Russia are allegedly supplying weapons to Iran.
"The two big countries (Russia and China) that are often discussed regarding Iran, in my opinion, are not involved (in supplying weapons to Tehran)," Trump wrote via the Truth Social platform, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, July 24.
Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping had confirmed directly in their meeting in Beijing recently, China "under any circumstances" would not provide or sell weapons to Iran.
"Likewise with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin... he told me, Russia will not sell weapons to Iran," Trump said.
Earlier in July, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also denied the rumors and confirmed reports of alleged arms supplies from Russia and China to Iran in conflict with the United States were not true.
