KUPANG - The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the East Nusa Tenggara Police officially increased the handling of the case of alleged intimidation against dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni (dr. Icha) from the investigation stage to the investigation.
Director of Criminal Investigation of the NTT Regional Police, Kombes Sigit Haryono, said the decision was made after the joint investigation team held a case on Thursday (23/7) and concluded that there was evidence of a criminal act.
"Based on the results of the trial, after a series of investigative actions were carried out, it was concluded that the reported incident was a criminal incident. Therefore, its handling was upgraded to the investigation stage," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 23.
He explained that before making the decision, investigators had collected various evidence, examined a number of witnesses, and asked for information from experts to ensure that the elements of the crime were fulfilled.
He emphasized that from the results of collecting evidence, examining witnesses, and coordinating with experts, investigators obtained sufficient grounds to increase the handling of this case to the investigation stage.
During the investigation process, the joint investigation team formed by the NTT Police Chief Inspector General. Dr. Rudi Darmoko, has examined 35 witnesses.
In addition, it also examined four reported persons, as well as requested information from five experts consisting of criminal law experts, language experts, psychologists, victimologists and criminologists, as well as graphologists.

He emphasized that at the investigation stage, investigators would carry out a series of follow-up legal actions, including deepening evidence, additional examinations, and other steps in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

The case of alleged intimidation against dr. Icha was handled by the NTT Regional Police after the family reported the incident on July 3, 2026.
