JAKARTA - The Young Anti-Corruption Caucus (KAMAKSI) considers Bank Jakarta's cooperative attitude in meeting the demands of law enforcement officers to be part of its commitment to good corporate governance or Good Corporate Governance (GCG).

KAMAKSI Chairman Joko Priyoski asked the public not to rush to judge Bank Jakarta regarding the legal process of the alleged case of credit facilities to PT RMU. The organization assessed that the investigation and investigation process must be respected while still prioritizing the principle of presumption of innocence.

"We consider Bank Jakarta's attitude of expressing cooperation to law enforcement officers to be the right step. Commitment to transparency and good corporate governance is an important factor in maintaining public confidence in the banking industry," said Joko on Friday, July 17.

According to Joko, the ongoing legal process cannot be used as a basis to conclude that there has been a violation before there is a court ruling with the force of law.

"It is necessary to distinguish between the legal process and the legal decision. When an institution chooses to be open and cooperative, it shows respect for the applicable legal mechanisms. The principle of presumption of innocence must remain a common reference," he said.

KAMAKSI also revealed the results of monitoring carried out by its organization showed that Bank Jakarta's operations were still running normally. Service to customers is said to not be affected by the ongoing legal process.

"Our monitoring results show that customer service is still running normally. This indicates that the ongoing legal process does not affect the quality of service or the company's operations," he said.

In addition, KAMAKSI also encourages the strengthening of internal control systems, compliance, and risk management carried out by Bank Jakarta to become an important part of strengthening corporate governance.

"The transformation carried out by Bank Jakarta deserves appreciation. Strengthening internal control, compliance, and risk management are important elements in building a healthy, transparent, accountable, and trusted financial institution," he explained.

KAMAKSI also invites the public to give space to law enforcement officers to complete the investigation and investigation process professionally and based on evidence, without being influenced by opinions that develop in the public space.

Previously, Bank Jakarta management stated that it respected all stages of the legal process related to credit facilities to PT RMU. The company also emphasized that it would be cooperative by providing the necessary data and information in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations, while ensuring that operations and services to customers continue to run normally.
