JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI has strengthened its commitment to maintaining the security and governance of banking services through adjustments to the status of savings and current accounts which are effective starting May 10, 2026. This policy is carried out in line with the implementation of POJK Number 24 of 2025 concerning the Management of Accounts at Public Banks which aims to increase customer protection while strengthening a healthier, safer, and transparent banking system.
Through this adjustment, the classification of the status of Savings and Current Accounts is now divided into three categories, namely Active Accounts, Inactive Accounts, and Dormant Accounts. This step is part of BRI's efforts to ensure that account use is carried out optimally while minimizing the potential for misuse of accounts that can harm customers and the banking industry.
BRI Operations Director Hakim Putratama said that the adjustment of the account status is part of the company's commitment to providing increasingly secure banking services and providing optimal protection to customers amid the increasing digital transaction activity of the community.
"BRI continues to strive to ensure that all banking services run safely, transparently, and in accordance with regulator provisions. Adjusting the status of this account is an important step to maintain the quality of customer account management while minimizing the potential for misuse of accounts for activities that are detrimental to society and the banking industry," said Hakim Putratama.
BRI urges all customers to transact regularly so that their accounts remain in an active status. This activity can be in the form of incoming funds transactions, outgoing funds, and checking balances periodically through various BRI service channels, including BRImo. With an active account, customers can continue to enjoy banking transaction services smoothly and comfortably to support various daily financial needs.
For customers whose accounts fall into the Inactive category, the reactivation process can be carried out through the BRImo application or by visiting the nearest BRI Office. Meanwhile, for accounts that have been dormant, reactivation can be carried out through the BRI Office according to the applicable procedures and provisions.
According to the judge, the active participation of customers in maintaining the status of accounts is one of the important factors in creating a healthy and safe banking transaction ecosystem. In addition to ensuring that accounts remain active, customers are also urged to routinely update personal data such as address, email, phone number, to identity documents to support the security and smoothness of banking services.
"We invite all customers to routinely ensure that their accounts remain active, carry out personal data updates, and maintain security of access to banking services. Thus, customers can continue to enjoy optimal transaction convenience while increasing protection against potential financial crime risks," he said.
As one of the banks with the widest service network in Indonesia, BRI continues to strengthen digital transformation and the quality of services that are oriented towards customer needs. Through BRImo and a network of offices spread throughout Indonesia, BRI ensures that all customers can access safe, easy, and convenient banking services while supporting the creation of a stronger and more trusted national banking ecosystem.
