JAKARTA - The decision of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) which asked all levels of the High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) to stop collecting data and information related to the alleged corruption of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program management has attracted attention.

Executive Director of the Center for Budget Analysis (CBA), Uchok Sky Khadafi, assessed that the move was an unusual policy. According to him, the decision raised questions and should be suspected as a form of intervention in the law enforcement process.

"The steps taken by the Attorney General's Office are unusual policies. This should be suspected as an intervention so that the investigation into the alleged corruption of the MBG is stopped," said Uchok Sky in his statement, Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Uchok linked the policy to the legal situation that he said occurred after the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, was named a suspect by the National Police's Court of Justice.

"After Febrie Adriansyah was named a suspect by the Corruption Court, the door to intervene with the Prosecutor's Office opened to pressure for the MBG investigation to be immediately stopped," he said.

Furthermore, Uchok also conveyed his views regarding the alleged case that ensnared Febrie. He assessed that the alleged violation was different from the practices that, according to him, had occurred in other institutions.

"Febrie Adriansyah is indeed suspected of committing a violation. But what is taken, in my opinion, comes from wealthy people who commit legal violations," he said.
