Prabowo Wants MBG Kitchen to be Monitored, from the Governor to the People Can Report

President Prabowo Subianto confirmed that the Free Nutritious Meal or MBG program would continue. However, he asked for tighter supervision to the kitchen so that the meal program for children and pregnant women would not become a new loophole to seek personal gain.

Prabowo conveyed this when inaugurating a dam in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Friday, July 10. The statement came after residents shouted support for MBG to continue.

"MBG we continue," said Prabowo.

Prabowo said MBG was very important because it concerned the quality of the next generation. According to him, nutritious food is needed so that the development of children's brains and bodies goes well.

"Brain cells must develop well. Muscle cells must be good. He can be a scientist, a doctor. If you don't eat well, you won't be the best," he said.

However, Prabowo admitted that there was a risk of irregularities in the implementation of the program. He asked the governor, regent, head of the village, head of the village, to the TNI-Polri apparatus to check the MBG kitchen.

"So I ask the governor, regent, head of the village, head of the village, to check all the MBG kitchens," he said.

Prabowo asked that the findings in the field be reported to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency or directly to him. He even opened a reporting space through social media.

He also asked for supervision to be carried out with good intentions, not to pressure the kitchen manager.

"Dandim, Kapolres, Kapolsek please check. That means it's good. Don't call me if you want to do it. Don't," he said.

In his speech, Prabowo lightly touched on the chicken and egg cuts in the MBG menu. He asked that the portion of food should not be made too small.

"Chicken can usually be cut into eight. If we do, one chicken is cut into eight or ten. At most, twelve. Don't cut it into eighteen or twenty-two," he said, to laughter from the audience.

Prabowo also asked that egg dishes not be made in the form of omelets if they were at risk of being mixed with too many other ingredients and reducing the protein portion.

"MBG jangan bikin telur dadar. Telur rebus, ceplok," ujarnya.

Prabowo said that not all regions had received MBG because Indonesia was very large. He asked the public to be patient and said the government would continue to expand the reach of the program.
