JAKARTA - The National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortas Tipikor) together with the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police seized dozens of kilograms of gold bars and foreign currencies after searching a luxury house in the Sentul area, Bogor, West Java.
The search was carried out in connection with the investigation of three cases of alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) at PT PLN (Persero), PT ASABRI (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.

Budi explained that the evidence in the form of foreign currency cash and gold bars weighing a total of 74 kilograms was estimated to be worth hundreds of billions of rupiah.
Based on information collected in front of the Ditreskrimsus Building of the Metro Jaya Police, all the evidence packed in several suitcases arrived at around 10.20 WIB using a tactical vehicle (rantis) and was closely guarded by dozens of Brimob personnel.
On one of the suitcases that was lowered by the officers, there was a label that read 'Suitcase 2, 25 gold bars 1 kg'. A number of officers even had to lift the suitcase together because of the weight of the load.
A joint team from the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Police conducted searches at 12 different locations spread across Jakarta and its surrounding areas, related to the investigation of a case of alleged corruption in money laundering (TPPU) involving PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero) and PT Krakatau Steel.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto explained that the series of activities were part of the legal action taken by the joint team to collect evidence.
"This is part of the search activities carried out by the joint team," he said.
Budi explained that as of Wednesday (8/7) evening, the joint team had completed the search at two locations in South Jakarta, namely Kafe de'Clan Signature in Cipete and Koin Money Changer in South Cipete.
