JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya has imposed temporary escort and traffic arrangements (lalin) on a number of protocol roads in Jakarta to welcome the state visit of Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on July 6-8, 2026.

"To ensure the smooth running of the event and form of respect, officers in the field will provide escort and temporary traffic management," said the Head of the Traffic Police of the Metro Jaya Police, Brigjen Pol Komarudin, in his statement in Jakarta, Monday.

He explained that the series of state events is scheduled to take place from Monday to Wednesday (6-8 July) at 17.00 WIB until it is completed.

He also ensured that the closure of the road was not carried out in total, but only situational or when the delegation of the state passed through the designated routes.

As is known, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confirmed that he will visit Indonesia on July 6-8, 2026 to accept President Prabowo Subianto's invitation and also pay a reciprocal state visit to India in January 2025.

The confirmation was made by the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravortyduring a press conference at the Indian Embassy in Jakarta on Friday (3/7).

"Prime Minister Modi will be here. This visit will be short, only for two nights," Chakravorty said.
