Commission II of the DPR said the Administrative Law Bill (RUU Adminduk) emphasizes the transformation of services: NIK will become a single identity.

Member of Commission II of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Khozin, said that the Draft Amendment to the Population Administration Law (RUU Adminduk) places the function of the expanded Population Identification Number (NIK) as a single identity (Single Identity Number/SIN) for all public services. According to him, this will change the face of public services completely.

Khozin assessed that the Adminduk Bill which places NIK as SIN will be an important step in digital transformation in Indonesia.

"The transformation of NIK into SIN will trigger a total change in our public services. The starting point for digital transformation will begin with this Adminduk Law," Khozin told reporters, Monday, July 6.

Khozin said that the use of NIK in public services is currently still limited, such as the Tax Identification Number (NPWP), BPJS Health, and Driver's License (SIM).

"Well, in this Adminduk bill, population data is used for public services such as education, banking, health, and others, development planning, budget allocation (determination of general allocation funds (DAU), special allocation funds (DAK), general elections, and law enforcement and crime prevention," explained the PKB legislator.

Khozin also emphasized that the existence of the new Adminduk Law has an urgent urgency in the midst of the long-voiced digital transformation efforts.

"The UU Adminduk is an important and historic momentum for Indonesia to transform digitally," said Khozin.

As is known, Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with the Government is drafting changes to the Adminduk Law. This second change will change the paradigm of population administration from a quasi-active system (Law No. 24 of 2013 concerning Adminduk) to an Integrated Digital Active System based on the national population data ecosystem.
