JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office (Dishub) has begun to partner with the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver community to strengthen the culture of safety and traffic order in the capital.

This step was initiated through the Kick Off of the 2026 KITA Jakarta Model Public Transportation Crew and Ojol Pioneer Selection which was attended by more than 200 drivers from various application companies.

Participants come from Goto, Grab, Maxim, Shopee, Indrive, Blue Bird, to Green SM. This activity also involves the police, Satpol PP, transportation observers, and a number of government agencies to strengthen synergy in urban transportation management.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Budi Awaluddin said the government could not solve the transportation problem without the support of application companies and driver communities.

"We hope this forum will be the starting point for collaboration between the Transportation Office, application companies, and the driver community. The government cannot work alone. Therefore, we want to build a mutual commitment so that traffic safety, road space order, and mobility comfort can be realized through sustainable collaboration," said Budi at the Transjakarta Office, East Jakarta, Monday, June 29.

Dishub noted that the number of active and semi-active ojol drivers in Jakarta in 2025 is estimated to reach 200,000 to 300,000 people. Their existence is considered an important part of the Jakarta transportation system because it connects people with public transportation services through first mile and last mile trips.

Through the Ojol Pelopor KITA Jakarta program, participants will attend briefings on driving safety, traffic etiquette, customer service, to understanding urban transportation.

This program adopts a concept that has been implemented in the Traffic Safety Pioneer Students, but targets the ojol driver community.

Dishub also invites drivers to comply with traffic rules, use the pick-up points that have been provided, prioritize safety over pursuing travel targets, and maintain the quality of service to the community.

"The Ojol Pelopor KITA Jakarta program is not just an award. This is an effort to build long-term collaboration so that more drivers become role models in driving safety, traffic order, and service to the community. Our hope is that Jakarta traffic will run more smoothly, illegal parking will be reduced, and people can move more safely and comfortably," said Budi.

In this activity, DKI Dishub also collaborated with the Population and Civil Registration Service (Disdukcapil) and the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Service (Disnakertrans) to provide public services for drivers.

They can take care of population administration such as printing damaged ID cards, creating Digital Population Identity (IKD), to obtaining information about work training centers and available training programs.
