Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rudianto Lallo, assessed that the increasing public confidence in the National Police based on the results of the Litbang Kompas survey, showed that various steps for improvement and reform in the National Police were beginning to be felt by the public.
For information, in the survey, the public's confidence in the National Police reached 82.4 percent. This figure increased compared to 2025 which was 76.2 percent.
"Public trust is a very important social capital for law enforcement institutions. This increase of up to 82.4 percent is worth appreciating because it shows that the community sees improvements in police services, professionalism, and performance," he said in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday.
Rudianto assessed that the success of the National Police in maintaining security stability and public order in the midst of various social challenges and technological developments, was also one of the factors that encouraged an increase in the public's positive perception of the institution.
According to him, the presence of the police which is increasingly responsive and efforts to improve the quality of service in various work units are important factors that affect the level of public confidence.
However, he reminded the National Police not to be complacent about the achievements.
According to him, the increase in public confidence should be used as an opportunity to continue to strengthen institutional reform and improve the quality of services to the public.
"Public trust is built through real work. Therefore, the National Police must continue to maintain professionalism, strengthen personnel integrity, and ensure that public services are faster, more transparent, and more humane," he said.
As a working partner of the National Police in the DPR RI, Rudianto emphasized that Commission III will continue to provide support to the police institution reform programs while carrying out oversight functions so that the trust that has been given by the public can be maintained sustainably.
"Public trust is not obtained instantly and can be lost in a short time if it is not guarded. Therefore, the National Police must continue to exist as a professional, modern, and trusted institution in providing a sense of security and fair law enforcement," he said.
It is known that the Survey of Public Perception and Evaluation of the Performance of the National Police in the Second Quarter of 2026 was carried out by Litbang Kompas on April 9-18, 2026, with 1,200 respondents and published through Harian Kompas on June 26, 2026.
The survey results noted that public confidence in the National Police increased to 82.4 percent.
The increase in the level of trust was followed by an increase in a number of public assessment indicators of the police institution.
The positive image of the National Police rose from 64.4 percent in 2025 to 71.5 percent in 2026. Meanwhile, the level of public satisfaction with police services increased from 65.3 percent to 67.6 percent.
