Jakarta Anniversary Peak: Free Concert at HI Roundabout, MRT-LRT-Transjakarta Tariff Rp1 for Two Days

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is preparing for the peak night of the 499th Anniversary of Jakarta through a free music concert at the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI), Saturday, June 27.

At the same time, the tariff for the Jakarta MRT, Jakarta LRT, and Transjakarta is only Rp1 for two days, namely June 27-28, 2026.

The peak night of the celebration, titled "Towards 5 Centuries of Jakarta", was the closing of the series of Jakarta's Independence Day which was previously filled with a number of programs for the public, ranging from arranging public spaces, inaugurating new infrastructure, free access to tourist destinations, to cheap transportation fares.

The Chairman of the 499th Anniversary Committee of the City of Jakarta and Assistant for Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary, Suharini Eliawati, said this year's anniversary was a momentum for Jakarta ahead of its five-hundredth birthday.

"The age of 499 is a momentum for Jakarta to travel five centuries. Therefore, this year's HUT we fill with various gifts for the public, ranging from more comfortable public spaces, mobility convenience, to entertainment and cultural activities. All of these series are a tangible manifestation of Jakarta's transformation into a global city that remains rooted in culture and brings benefits to the community," said Eli in Jakarta, Thursday, June 25.

The concert Menuju 5 Abad Jakarta will take place at Bundaran HI on Saturday from 15.30-22.00 WIB. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

A number of musicians are scheduled to appear to enliven the event, including Padi Reborn, Mahalini, Adrian Khalif, Cici Paramida, Mollucan Soul, Sania, Skarbu, to Pasming Based. In addition to the music concert, the public can also watch multimedia performances in the form of lighting shows, video mapping, flying LED, environmentally friendly art installations, and the launch of the logo towards the five centuries of Jakarta.

The excitement continued on Sunday, June 28, through the Jakarta Full Color event held in the Bundaran HI area from 06.00 to 10.00 WIB. This activity presents various art, cultural, sports, and entertainment attractions.

Visitors can follow PoundFit, watch the giant balloon parade from Sarinah to HI Circle, marching band performances, Nusantara mass dance involving hundreds of dancers, Gambang Kromong and ballet collaborations, urban theater, to garbage sorting actions.

To support the implementation of the event, the DKI Provincial Government will temporarily close Jalan M.H. Thamrin from the Sarinah area to Dukuh Atas on Saturday from 14.00-23.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the implementation of the Motor Vehicle Free Day (HBKB) on Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said on Sunday was abolished so that the Jakarta HUT activities were centered in the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor.

"Come and celebrate Jakarta's Independence Day with your family and friends. Use public transportation, and together keep cleanliness and order so that this celebration is safe, comfortable, and fun for everyone," explained Eli.

In addition to the public transportation tariff of Rp1, people can also enjoy free access to Ancol Dream Park, National Monument, Ragunan Wildlife Park, museums owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, as well as swimming pools and sports facilities managed by the Youth and Sports Service during the period 27-28 June 2026.
