JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has rejected a justice collaboratory application filed by a suspect in the case of alleged corruption in the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in 2025-2026 Sony Sonjaya (SS).
"We have not been able to meet the request for a justice collaborator or reject the request for a justice collaborator from the suspect SS," said the Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office for Islamic Law, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 23.
According to him, the reason for this rejection is because Sony does not meet the requirements as a justice collaborator for the sale of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
He explained that the implementation of justice collaborators was regulated in Law Number 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 13 of 2006 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims as well as the Supreme Court Circular Number 4 of 2011.
He explained that there were two conditions that must be met by a justice collaborator, namely not being the main perpetrator and admitting the act.
However, after the investigators examined Sony and examined the information provided, the investigators concluded that the person concerned was the main perpetrator in this case.
"Brother SS is the party most responsible for determining or verifying the SPPG points, so that the person concerned is the main perpetrator, so it is not the second liner, of the two who will open the perpetrator on it," he explained.
Meanwhile, for the second requirement, the perpetrator's witness must admit the act. Syarief said Sony has not admitted his actions.
"In yesterday's examination, indeed, no one has been considered by the investigators to have admitted that the person concerned admitted his actions as suspected," he said.
For these two reasons, investigators also rejected the request of justice collaborator Sony Sonjaya.
However, Syarief appreciated the information provided by SonySonjaya to investigators related to this case.
"We appreciate all the information and it can be used to make this case clear," he said.
Previously, former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the MBG program management in 2025-2026.
Sony was named a suspect on June 3, 2026, along with former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana and former Deputy Head of BGN Lodewyk Pusung.
After being named a suspect and undergoing an examination, Sony volunteered as a justice collaborator to help uncover the case.
The application was submitted through his lawyer, Krisna Murti, to Jampidsus on June 8, 2026.
Krisna said his client filed a status of justice collaboratorkarena wants to reveal the parties suspected of being involved in the case as well as explain his role in the case being investigated.
According to him, Sony considers himself to have been considered responsible for the sale of SPPG kitchen points, although there was pressure and direction from other parties.
