JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Igor Sekreta, expressed his country's concern about the increasing number of military exercises in the eastern wing of NATO.

"We are very concerned about the increasing number of military exercises in the eastern wing of NATO," said the Secretary at the International Virtual Round Table entitled "European Militarization", which was held at the OSCE headquarters in Vienna, reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Tuesday, June 23.

The deputy minister noted that more than 600 exercises involving 600,000 personnel had been carried out in the European part of the continent last year, including more than 250 exercises involving more than 170,000 personnel in Poland and the Baltic states.

"These maneuvers, carried out with unprecedented intensity, cover all strategic directions, from the Arctic and Baltic to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean," the Secretary added.

According to him, countless exercises are underway at the national level.

In particular, Belarus highlighted the "Brave Boar 2026" exercise, which took place from June 16-26 in the so-called Suwalki Gap.

The exercise involves troops from Poland, Lithuania, and France, "as well as French and Polish plans to conduct joint air force exercises simulating an attack on targets in the territory of Belarus and Russia."
