NU Congress Held August 1-5, Location Still Being Digodok

JAKARTA - The General Manager of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) said that the NU 2026 Congress will be held on August 1-5, 2026 with a location that will still be decided together after the NU National Congress and the NU Grand Conference (Konbes) at Al Falah Boarding School, Kediri.

"Munas and Konbes are a series with the Congress which, God willing, will be held on August 1-5, 2026. The location has been agreed upon, namely there are proposals for several places ranging from NTB (West Nusa Tenggara), East Java, West Java, and of course West Sumatra," said Secretary of the Steering Committee (Munas and Konbes NU 2026M) Nuh in Kediri, East Java, Monday, June 22, reported by ANTARA.

He said that for the location of the congress, a special meeting would still be held. The team will review and review a number of locations proposed as a congress venue, such as feasibility aspects including the feasibility of infrastructure, security feasibility, financial feasibility, to spiritual feasibility.

"Including this place, during the Munas-Konbes there were several places that we visited, and we got the physical feasibility, where the last was seen from the spiritual feasibility. From the spiritual feasibility, the place of the Munas-Konbes was finally decided here. This is with the same method, then the muktamar will also be announced," said M Nuh.

He emphasized that the theme of the muktamar would be the same, namely to maintain the dignity of NU and enrich the service for the nation's community.

Meanwhile, the closing of the NU 2026 Congress and Conference will be held in Bangkalan on Tuesday (23/6). The event is scheduled to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto.

"The closure has certainty. God willing, Mr. President will be present, namely at 2 pm. But we have started a series, starting from the pilgrimage to the tomb, then it is a procession, then at 2 pm, God willing, with Mr. President," said M Nuh.

At the 2026 NU Congress, he continued, PBNU wants to remind the history of NU is inseparable from the struggle of ulama, including Syekh Hasyim Asy'aridan Syaikhona Muhammad Kholil Bangkalan.

PBNU held the 2026 MunasAlim Ulama - KonbesNU at the Al Falah Pondok Pesantren Village Ploso, Mojo District, Kediri Regency, on June 20-22, 2026.

The event was attended by PBNU and PWNU officials throughout Indonesia. Hundreds of NU sympathizers were also present. The activity included discussing the preparation of the muktamar.
