SEMARANG - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI continues to strengthen its role in encouraging the progress of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through mentoring programs, business capacity improvement, and opening wider market access.
One of the business actors who felt the benefits of the support was IDEacraft, a home decoration UMKM from the city of Semarang which was established in 2019 and now markets its products through social media, hotel galleries, and rest areas in Central Java.
The owner of IDEacraft Swabawa Arif Wicaksono said that his business was born from his desire to present unique and marketable home decoration products. His interest in the art world then became the beginning of IDEacraft's journey in producing various home decoration products that combine aesthetics and function.
"The idea of creating the IDEacraft business started from a hobby of painting and seeing the opportunity to create beautiful, unique, and marketable home decoration products. This business started with a capital of around IDR 300,000 and an instrument to make candles. From the sale of the initial product, the profits obtained were continuously reinvested as business capital for approximately four years," said Swabawa.
Over time, IDEacraft continues to develop its various products, ranging from teapot lamps, batik painting teapots, cake jars, to hand soap bottles which are the most sought-after products by customers.
By prioritizing unique designs, high aesthetic value, and remaining competitive in terms of price, IDEacraft products are now reaching markets in various regions of Central Java. In 2022, the business also began expanding its marketing network through local MSMEs.
In the process of developing the business, Swabawa then joined the BRI State-Owned Enterprise House. Various programs that are presented help IDEacraft to strengthen business capacity while opening up opportunities for wider market development.
"I decided to join because the BRI State-Owned Enterprise House provides various facilities that support business development, ranging from training, curation programs through BRIncubator, market access through the BRI State-Owned Enterprise and UMKM EXPO (RT) gallery, to support for connecting with financial services such as BRImo, EDC, QRIS, and access to KUR financing and commercial credit," he added.
Swabawa assessed that branding and digital marketing training were the most helpful programs in developing his business. In addition, product curation through BRIncubator and the opportunity to attend the BRI UMKM EXPO (RT) also increased product exposure to more diverse prospective buyers.
To support business operations, IDEacraft also utilizes BRImo, QRIS BRI, and BRI merchant services. The presence of these services provides ease of transaction, real-time payment notifications, and fast and practical disbursement of transaction funds.
Until the end of March 2026, BRI has fostered 54 BUMN Houses in various regions of Indonesia and held more than 18 thousand training to increase the capacity and competitiveness of MSMEs.
Through an integrated empowerment ecosystem, the BRI BUMN House continues to open access to learning, expand business networks, and create wider market opportunities for UMKM players in various regions.
On a separate occasion, BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny said that IDEacraft's journey showed how creativity that is developed consistently can become a business opportunity with economic value.
According to him, the ability to present unique products and consistency in increasing business capacity is an important factor in strengthening the competitiveness of MSMEs.
"IDEacraft shows that creativity combined with perseverance can produce unique products and have added value. The ability to utilize various business development opportunities, ranging from capacity building to expanding market access, is an important factor in strengthening the competitiveness of MSMEs.
"BRI will continue to present various empowerment programs that help MSMEs to increase business capacity, expand business development opportunities, and encourage more MSMEs to upgrade," concluded Dhanny.
