Aliansi Relawan Peduli Bangsa Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) menyatakan dukungannya terhadap Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) yang dijalankan pemerintah.
The program is considered not only to contribute to improving children's nutritional quality, but also to be able to stimulate the community's economy.
The support was conveyed through a statement of position held in Yogyakarta, Friday (19/12). On this occasion, volunteers invited all elements of society to accompany the implementation of MBG so that it runs transparently, accurately, accountable, and sustainable.
Field Action Coordinator, Raihan Evan, said MBG is a long-term investment to prepare a healthy, smart, and productive generation of Indonesians.
"This program is important to create a healthy, smart, and productive generation of Indonesians," he said.
According to Evan, the benefits of MBG are not only felt by the program recipients, but also have a multiplier effect on the regional economy. The involvement of farmers, fishermen, livestock farmers, to micro, small and medium business actors (MSMEs) in the supply chain of the program is considered capable of encouraging economic growth at the local level.
The DIY National Care Volunteer Alliance believes that good program management will bring broad benefits, ranging from the creation of jobs, increased community welfare, to supporting the quality of national education.
In addition to conveying support for MBG, volunteers also emphasized the importance of strengthening the culture of anti-corruption as part of efforts to realize clean and integrated government governance.
"We encourage law enforcement officials to take firm action against corrupt perpetrators in accordance with applicable laws, and to ensure that the legal process is fair, transparent, and independent," said Evan.
In the midst of various social and political dynamics, they also invite the public to continue to maintain unity and the spirit of mutual cooperation. According to them, differences of opinion in democratic life are normal and can become a positive energy to strengthen national unity.
Evan emphasized that the statement of position was a form of public participation in supporting programs that were considered beneficial to the people while encouraging the realization of a government that was increasingly transparent and accountable.
"Hopefully, the development of Indonesia can run better, law enforcement is more just, and the welfare of the community continues to increase towards a developed and sovereign Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, a participant in the action, Septi Kurnarni, admitted that he felt the direct benefits of the MBG program.
The woman, who is the mother of three children, said that the work she obtained in the MBG kitchen helped increase the family's income.
"By working in the MBG kitchen, my family's economy is very helpful. I have an income to support my family," he said.
Similarly, a volunteer, Nani Rachman, admitted that he felt the direct benefits of the Free Nutritious Meal Program. According to him, his involvement in the program also helped improve his family's economy.
"I feel the benefits of the MBG Program. In addition to contributing to the provision of nutritious food for children, this program also greatly helps our family's economy by providing the opportunity to earn an income," said Nani Rachman.
Nani hopes that the program can continue to run and provide wider benefits for the community, especially for families in need of additional sources of income.
