JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State-Owned Food Holding PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI) ID FOOD to strengthen economic diplomacy cooperation in supporting national food security.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President Director of ID FOOD at the Sunda Kelapa Room, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wednesday (17/6).
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the scope of cooperation from the Memorandum of Understanding includes the promotion of Indonesian food products abroad, the exchange of data and information, the improvement of human resource capacity, the facilitation of cooperation in the development of research and technology, and support for the implementation of investment promotion (inbound and outbound) in the field of food security.
Through this Memorandum of Understanding, both parties can synergize in strengthening the ability to produce food products sustainably and support national food sovereignty and resilience.
The Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Denny Abdi, in his remarks emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two parties in efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy.

Meanwhile, ID FOOD President Director Ghimoyo in his remarks said that this cooperation was a strategic step in strengthening the role of ID FOOD as a Food SOE Holding in supporting the food security program.
According to him, the support of the economic diplomacy network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will open opportunities for expanding export markets, strengthening international trade cooperation, and investment in the food sector.
Currently, ID FOOD has developed a number of flagship export commodities, including robusta and arabica coffee, premium tea, seaweed, rattan and wood furniture, and gum damar.
In the future, this cooperation is expected to further open up market development opportunities and strengthen the competitiveness of these products in the international market.
The signing of the NK was followed by a hybrid business pitching activity by ID FOOD which was attended by officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of heads of Indonesian representatives abroad, as well as economic function officials at the Indonesian Representative who attended online.
