Sudewo Charged with Accepting Money Gratification, Keris Nogososro to Repair the Road in Front of the House

Pati - The non-active Regent of Pati, Sudewo, was accused of receiving gratification in the form of billions of rupiah, the Nogososro kris, and road repairs in front of his house.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the receipt was made by Sudewo related to alleged bribes and gratuities in the Double Line Railway Development Project between Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation. He was then serving as a member of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

"Receiving the money in total amounted to Rp. 2,340,000,000 and goods in the form of a Nogososro kris with a value of Rp. 15 million as well as road repairs in front of the defendant's house with a value of Rp. 150 million," said the prosecutor at the Semarang Tipikor Court, Central Java, Monday, June 15.

The prosecutor detailed that the receipt was made in cash from PT Mataram Inti Konstruksi Nur Hidayat, which amounted to Rp. 2.1 billion or Rp. 2,140,000,000.

Meanwhile, the Nogososro kris was received from Nur Hidayat. The gift was made at Sudewo's house located in Kadipiro, Surakarta, Central Java.

Next, Sudewo was also said to have received money from the commitment maker (PPK) in the Semarang Class I BTP environment Bernard Hasibuan as much as Rp. 200 million.

Furthermore, the PPK of the Solo-Semarang double track project, Dheki Martin, allegedly gave gratification in the form of road repairs in front of Sudewo's house worth Rp. 150 million.

"That the acceptance of gratification in the form of money and goods by the defendant from Nur Hidayat, which in total amounted to Rp. 2,155,000,000; money from Bernard Hasibuan amounting to Rp. 200 million; and goods from Dheky Martin with a value of Rp. 150 million with a total amount of money and goods amounting to Rp. 2.5 billion (Rp. 2,505,000,000) has never been reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission within a 30-day period," said the prosecutor.

As previously reported, the KPK named Sudewo as the Regent of Pati as a suspect in alleged extortion of filling village apparatus positions with Abdul Suyono (YON) as the Karangrowo Kades, Jakenan District; Sumarjiono (JION) as the Arumanis Kades, Jakenan District; and Karjan (JAN) as the Sukorukun Kades, Jakenan District. This determination was made after they were caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT).

Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that the tariff of Rp. 165-225 million must be paid by the prospective village apparatus (caperdes). This figure is said to have been marked up by Abdul Suyono and Sumarjiono from Rp. 125-150 million.

There was also a threat, namely that the village apparatus formation would not be reopened the following year if the caperdes did not want to hand over the money.

During the silent operation, the KPK then secured Rp. 2.6 billion which had been stored in sacks. As a result of his actions, Sudewo et al were suspected of violating Article 12 letter e of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 jo Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.

In addition, the KPK also named Sudewo as a suspect in the alleged bribery of the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java.
