Jakarta - The National Economic Council (DEN) conducted an independent survey on the implementation of the MBG program throughout Indonesia. The results of the survey were reported to President Prabowo Subianto in a meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 9.

DEN member, Septian Hario Seto, said the survey was conducted independently. The survey was carried out with a random sampling method of 800 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) spread across various regions of Indonesia, ranging from South Nias, Halmahera, to Papua.

According to Seto, the samples selected by computerization represent the entire population of SPPG currently operating. From the survey results, DEN found that 86.9 percent of SPPGs have at least one small-scale supplier or UMKM located around their operational locations.

In fact, on average, each SPPG works with three MSMEs as suppliers of raw material needs. This finding shows that the MBG program also creates new economic opportunities at the local level.

Seto continued, DEN also found that around 64 to 65 percent of SME suppliers came from the same district as the SPPG location. This illustrates the economic benefits of the program, which are felt more by local business actors than by large suppliers from outside the region.

In addition to encouraging the growth of MSMEs, the MBG program is also said to contribute to the creation of employment in the region. Survey results show that almost all of the labor involved in SPPG operations come from the surrounding community.

The MBG program contributes to national economic growth which in the first quarter of 2026 reached 5.61 percent.
