Viral District Secretary Caught Playing PS During Working Hours, Tangerang Regency: He Has Been Warned

Tangerang - The Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab), Banten Province, gave a warning and sanction to the Mauk Sub-district Secretary (Sekcam) with the initials MK. The video when he was caught playing PlayStation (PS) during the service hours also became a gossip on social media.

Head of the Human Resources Development and Management Agency (BKPSDM) of Tangerang Regency, Beny Rachmat in Tangerang, Sunday conveyed that based on the results of the examination and clarification of the person concerned, it has been proven that he has violated the discipline of the civil servant apparatus (ASN) contained in PP 94 2021 concerning the Discipline of Civil Servants.

"In this case, the camat has reprimanded. A summons, clarification, and examination of the civil servant concerned have been carried out as stipulated in PP 94," he said, quoted from ANTARA, June 7.

He said that this violation of employee discipline had been taken action through a reprimand by the immediate superior in this case, the Mauk Sub-district Head, who had the function of supervising and coaching his subordinates.

"Yesterday I saw it, I got a report that even the Head of the District had summoned the Head of the District as his immediate superior," he said.

The sanctions given to the ASN Sekcam, are a form of the regional government's firmness in handling incidents or violations committed by its employees.

In addition, to anticipate similar events not to be repeated or followed by other service offices, his party has conducted training for all regional devices, to carry out sudden inspections on the implementation of services.

"BKPSDM continues to provide training, both through socialization or directly going to the field," he said.

Camat Mauk Angga Yuliantono apologized to the public, especially residents of Tangerang Regency, for this incident.

As a follow-up, the Mauk Sub-district Head will conduct a thorough evaluation to improve internally so that they can provide maximum service to the community.

"Hopefully this will be a lesson for us to learn from it, that performance and discipline must still be prioritized during working hours," he said.

He added that his party was committed to always improving public services to the community, especially the people of Mauk.

"Once again, on behalf of the individual and the institution, we apologize for this commotion. Hopefully this can be a lesson for us in the future," he said.

Previously, a viral video on social media circulated showing employees and also the alleged Secretary of the Mauk Sub-district, Tangerang Regency, playing PayStation while the service hours were still taking place at the sub-district office.

Seen in a room, the employees were busy playing PlayStation and from the video it appears that a man suspected of being the head of Mauk was asked by someone about why he was playing PlayStation while the service hours were still going on and answered "it's in a closed room".

There is no information on when the incident occurred.
