JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has removed Dadan Hindayana as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) effective June 2, 2026.
"On this day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the President has decided to make a change in the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency," said Secretary of State (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 2.
Furthermore, Dadan's position was replaced by Nanik Suryati Dayang who previously served as Deputy Head of BGN.
Dadan, who as of Tuesday morning was still serving as Head of BGN, also accompanied President Prabowo to check the operation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchen in Palmerah, West Jakarta. After that, Prabowo also checked the implementation of MBG at SMPN 111 Jakarta.
Dadan, who is an expert in insects from the Bogor Agricultural Institute, officially served as the Head of BGN by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as stipulated in Presidential Decree RI Number: 94B Year 2024 concerning the Appointment of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency. Dadan was inaugurated on August 19, 2024 along with other state officials during President Jokowi's administration.
Then, Dadan continued his position as Head of BGN during the presidency of President Prabowo until June 2, 2026.
BGN was formed to implement one of the government's priority programs, namely MBG, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's campaign promises in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election.
MBG itself is a program to provide healthy and nutritious food for school students, toddlers, and pregnant and lactating mothers. The program has been running since January 6, 2025.
