Depok - The Depok City Government (Pemkot) in West Java prohibits the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) from doing live broadcasts on social media during working hours, except for the interests of official government accounts and official duties.

The Head of the Depok City Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM), Endra in Depok, Sunday, reminded the importance of ASN discipline in carrying out their duties, including not carrying out live social media activities that are not related to work.

According to him, live activities on social media that are not related to civil service duties can be categorized as a violation of ASN discipline.

This provision is in line with Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021 concerning the Discipline of Civil Servants (PNS).

In the regulation, ASN is required to carry out their duties with full responsibility and comply with the provisions of working hours.

Activities outside of official duties during working hours are considered to interfere with performance, productivity, and the quality of public services.

In addition, Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning ASN also emphasizes the importance of the implementation of the basic value of BERAKHLAK.

Through these values, ASN is required to work professionally, loyally, adaptively, and uphold integrity in carrying out their duties.

Endra added that the use of social media is still allowed as long as it is done wisely and does not interfere with the implementation of the main task as state apparatus.

"Use social media wisely and professionally. Focus on working, working, and providing the best service to the community," he said.

Furthermore, he said that ASN has an obligation to focus on carrying out their duties and responsibilities as servants of the community as well as complying with the applicable working hours.

He said the principle of ASN must focus on carrying out the duties of the civil service and prioritizing the interests of the community, region, and nation and state.

"ASN must also be proactive in resolving any problems they face responsibly," he said.
