JAKARTA - The State Administration Agency (LAN) emphasizes the importance of the role of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to become an example of digital ethics in maintaining social cohesion based on Pancasila values.

Deputy for Improving the Quality of State Administrative Policies of the LAN RI Agus Sudrajat said that in the era of social media, the public is easily influenced by hoaxes, hate speech, polarization, and identity conflicts that can threaten national unity.

"ASN must be an example of digital ethics, an agent of public literacy, and also a disseminator of correct information," said Agus in an international webinar welcoming the birthday of Pancasila online in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 30.

According to him, this mandate is in line with Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning the State Civil Apparatus which positions ASN as a glue and unifier of the nation.

Pancasila, he continued, is the moral and ideological foundation for ASN in carrying out their duties in the midst of the diversity of Indonesia which has more than 17 thousand islands, 1,300 ethnic groups, hundreds of regional languages, as well as religious and cultural diversity.

In recent years, various social dynamics have emerged in the digital space, such as political polarization, the spread of hoaxes, and social conflicts. This condition can slowly weaken social cohesion.

Therefore, Agus reminded ASN to take the role of being a social glue, an agent of moderation and tolerance, a driver of inclusive public services, and a motor for bureaucratic transformation oriented towards national unity.

"ASN not only carries out administrative functions, but also holds a national mandate as a glue and unifier of the nation," he said.

As an adhesive and unifier of the nation, ASN must be able to build harmony, maintain social communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen community collaboration.

In addition, ASN is also responsible for maintaining national integration by ensuring that all people receive the same service. ASN must ensure fair public services.

"ASN is obliged to ensure that services are provided without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, race, political choices, or social status," he said.

"LAN RI, continued Agus, continues to strengthen the competence of ASN through the transformation of adaptive and applicable learning systems with a main focus on internalizing national values and patriotism," he said.

"ASN training is no longer just about producing numbers. ASN as a glue that unites the nation is a strategic mandate of the state to maintain national integration, government stability, and also the unity of Indonesia," he said.
