SAMPANG - The Sampang Police, East Java, are investigating a case of alleged dissemination of obscene content on social media reported by residents of Omben District. The police are currently still investigating and deepening the case.
Head of Public Relations of Sampang Police, AKP Eko Puji Waluyo, said the investigation began from a report from the public which was recorded in the police report number STTLP/82/IV/RES.1.24./2026/Satreskrim.

"Until now, there has been no determination of suspects because the investigation process is still ongoing and waiting for the results of digital forensic analysis of evidence," he said.
The Sampang Police also denied the public's perception that the handling of the case was slow. Eko emphasized that investigators had taken steps to investigate since the report was received.
"Regarding the perception that the handling of the case is slow, I think not. The investigator has summoned witnesses," he said.
He explained that four people had been summoned for questioning. Of these, two witnesses had fulfilled the call and undergone an examination, while the other two were rescheduled due to being unable to attend.
The police also plan to summon the suspect with the initials I next week. If the call is not met, investigators will take further legal steps.
"For the reported, we will call next week. If it is not fulfilled, we will make a forced effort," said Eko.
