The woman from Cakung with the initials ES was stabbed during her son's wedding reception which was held at the Gelanggang Remaja Jalan Sunter Karya Timur, RT 14/13, Sunter Agung Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta.

The incident began on Saturday, May 23, 2026, when the perpetrator, who is the victim's ex-husband, attended his biological son's wedding reception at the location.

When shaking hands on the reception stage, suddenly the perpetrator took a knife that had been prepared in advance. The knife was kept in the perpetrator's bag.

The perpetrator then stabbed the victim's stomach once. The stabbing was allegedly motivated by a burning love grudge.

Meanwhile, the victim was taken to the hospital for intensive care. AKP Handam ensured that the perpetrator stabbed because of deep pain to the victim.

"The suspect is temporarily because of revenge. The perpetrator carried a letter that was made in the morning before leaving for the wedding reception," he said.

The perpetrator apparently had planned the act before the incident occurred.

"In general, in the letter he had written a sense of hurt to his ex-wife regarding several things when they were married," he said.
