Kaltara Police Involve Labfor Team to Investigate the Fire at the Bulungan Regent's Office

TANJUNG SELOR - North Kalimantan Police Chief, Irjen Djati Wiyoto Abadhy, directly reviewed the location of the fire in the Bulungan Regent's Office area.

The review is to ensure that post-fire handling runs optimally and at the same time monitor the initial investigation process.

During his review, the Police Chief was accompanied by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kaltara Police, the Head of the Kaltara Police Intelligence, the Head of the Bulungan Police, the Regional Secretary of the Bulungan Regency, Risdianto, and the Commander of the 0903/BLG Battalion, Colonel Inf. Dhuwi Henradjaja.

The Police Chief emphasized that the police would conduct an in-depth investigation to uncover the exact cause of the fire that occurred on Wednesday night. The East Java Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) will also be involved in the investigation process.

"We have prepared the crime scene which will later be assisted by the East Java Labfor Team to find out the cause of the fire," said Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy at the scene, Thursday, May 21.

He ensured that, until now, there were no casualties in the incident. Meanwhile, the total material losses are still in the process of data collection by the local government.

"The victim of life so far is not there. Material losses are still being collected by the Secretary of the Province related to the impact of last night's fire," he explained.

The Police Chief appealed to the public to remain calm and not easily influenced by speculation about the cause of the fire circulating on social media.

"The investigation process is currently underway and is waiting for the National Police Forensic Team from Surabaya, East Java," he said.
