Putin arrived in China on Tuesday for an official visit. On Wednesday, he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing.
"Russia and China are actively cooperating in the energy sector. Our country is one of the largest exporters of oil, natural gas, including liquefied petroleum gas, and coal to China," Putin said after his meeting with Xi, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, May 20.
"Of course, we are ready to continue to ensure that all types of these fuels are supplied without interruption," Putin said.
He also highlighted the great potential for cooperation between Russia and China in the renewable energy sector.
"Russia and China are actively developing industrial cooperation, building new joint value chains, as well as introducing advanced technologies and innovations," he said.
Putin added that Russia is completing the construction of a new unit at the Chinese nuclear power plant, which he said would make a significant contribution to energy supplies for the Chinese economy.
