JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has asked Indonesian pilgrims to start reducing non-urgent activities ahead of the peak of worship in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina or Armuzna. The appeal was made amid the high air temperature in Saudi Arabia which was considered to drain the stamina of pilgrims before the peak phase of the hajj began.
Ministry of Religion spokesperson Maria Assegaf said physical readiness was an important factor so that pilgrims could carry out the entire series of worship smoothly.
"Ahead of Armuzna, we invite all pilgrims to start saving energy and maintaining stamina. Don't force physical activities that are not urgent so that the body's condition remains in good condition when entering the peak phase of the hajj," said Maria in Jakarta, Thursday, May 14.
Entering the 24th day of the 1447 Hijriah/2026 AD Hajj operations, a total of 395 flight groups with a total of 152,724 pilgrims and 1,577 officers have been dispatched to Saudi Arabia.
A total of 353 clusters containing 136,422 pilgrims and 1,412 officers have also arrived in Mecca after moving gradually from Medina. Meanwhile, the arrival of the second wave through King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah, was recorded at 120 clusters with 45,914 pilgrims and 481 officers. In addition, 10,535 special pilgrims have been in the Holy Land.
Maria said the Saudi Arabian Hajj Organizing Committee continued to perfect the peak Hajj service through the Armuzna Operation Unit. Preparations are being made to ensure that accommodation, consumption, and transportation run smoothly when millions of pilgrims begin to move towards Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.
"The readiness of tents in Arafah is currently around 90 percent. The review of Masyair bus transportation services is also being carried out to ensure that the mobility of pilgrims runs smoothly during the peak of the hajj," he said.
PPIH Saudi Arabia also prepared congestion mitigation, especially on the Arafah route to Muzdalifah and Muzdalifah to Mina, which has been a vulnerable point for the congregation.
The Ministry of Religion asked pilgrims to limit activities outside the hotel, especially during the day. Pilgrims are also urged to get more rest, maintain their diet, and get enough fluids to avoid dehydration.
"Hajj is not only a spiritual worship, but also a physical worship. Therefore, stamina needs to be maintained from now on so that pilgrims can undergo Armuzna well," said Maria.
