MEKAH - Saudi Arabia's Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) has ensured that the needs for washing and drying facilities for Indonesian prospective pilgrims at the hotel where they are staying are well met.
Head of the Accommodation Service Section of Daker Makkah PPIH Saudi Arabia Suryo Panilih said his party had coordinated with the sharikah and hotel management to provide an alternative location as a solution to the rule prohibiting drying on the roof (rooftop) of the building.
"We have coordinated with the hotel to find a replacement solution, including using the service floor (S) or R floor for hotels that do not have these facilities," said Suryo in Mecca, Saturday.
He explained that for hotels that previously had a special drying location on the roof, the activities of prospective pilgrims would be moved to a new area that had been prepared.
Meanwhile, for hotels that do not have drying facilities, the management is preparing a special area equipped with water drainage.
PPIH continues to monitor and supervise the process of working on the new area, which is estimated to take one to three days, so that worshipers can immediately use it to wash every day.
Overall, Suryo ensured that the accommodation service for prospective pilgrims in Mecca was safe and smooth. Hotel management continues to commit to fulfilling its responsibilities according to the contract, including providing receptionists, adequate elevators, washing machines, and drinking water for pilgrims.
Regarding the policy of prohibiting drying clothes on hotel roofs that had previously been issued, Suryo emphasized that the step was taken by the Saudi authorities solely to maintain the safety of pilgrims while complying with the city's order regulations in Mecca.
