JAKARTA - Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf plans to meet with the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Thursday, May 7 to discuss the implementation of procurement of goods and services in the people's school program.

The minister, who is familiarly called Gus Ipul, said the meeting was aimed at reporting all the processes that have been carried out in the implementation of the program, as well as strengthening the transparency of the use of state funds.

"If there is time, tomorrow (May 7) we will meet with the leadership of the KPK to report on all the processes we have gone through," Yusuf said in his statement, Wednesday, May 6.

According to Gus Ipul, coordination with law enforcement agencies is important as part of the supervision and evaluation of government work programs, especially in the procurement of goods and services using state funds.

"We will coordinate, of course, with the prosecutor's office, the police, and including the KPK," he said.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Social Affairs is open to the audit and supervision process from various parties, both official institutions and the community. This step is taken so that there is no deviation in the management of government social program budgets.

Gus Ipul said openness and supervision were an important part of building clean and accountable governance, especially in priority programs, such as people's schools.

"As part of our efforts to prevent irregularities in the procurement of goods and services in the Ministry of Social Affairs environment," he concluded.

The people's school program itself is one of the social programs that the government is preparing to expand access to education for the poor. Because it uses a large budget, supervision of the implementation of the program is considered important to ensure that the use of funds is in accordance with the rules.
