National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Emphasizes Commitment to Follow-up on Recommendations for Police Reform

Jakarta - There is something special when the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission (KPRP) gives its recommendations to President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Tuesday, May 5.

In conjunction with this, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, had his birthday. The Head of the KPRP Team, Jimly Asshiddiqie, had congratulated him in front of journalists. Furthermore, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized the commitment of the National Police institution to immediately follow up on all recommendations from the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission (KPRP).

In his statement to the media, the National Police Chief said that the National Police welcomed various proposals submitted by the commission and was ready to implement them gradually.

The National Police Chief also emphasized that strengthening the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) was one of the priority agendas that would be implemented soon. In addition, the National Police will coordinate with relevant ministries to follow up on the arrangement of the placement of personnel outside the organizational structure.

Furthermore, the National Police Chief revealed that the National Police had prepared a reform strategy based on time stages. Starting from the short, medium, and long term, as part of institutional governance improvement.

This quick step is a strong signal that the reform of the National Police is now entering a new phase, namely from formulation to real execution in the field.
