JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) ensures that there are no casualties in the incident of a tree falling during a crowd on Jalan Encep Kartawiria, North Cimahi District.

The Head of the Cimahi City BPBD, Fithriandy Kurniawan, said that all victims affected in the incident only suffered minor injuries and shock.

"In this incident (the tree fell), we ensure that there were no casualties, all of them were only minor injuries and shock," he said in Cimahi, Monday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the incident of the tree falling occurred around 10.50 WIB when strong winds hit the area, causing the tree to collapse across the road.

He also added that in addition to weather factors, the condition of the tree trunk which was suspected to have experienced weathering was also a cause of additional tree falls.

The dimensions of the tree that has the Kiarapayung type itself have a height of about 15 meters with a diameter of 50 centimeters.

This condition had disrupted traffic flow around the location because the road access was covered by the tree trunk.

BPBD together with joint officers immediately carried out assessment and evacuation by cutting and cleaning tree materials.

"Our team immediately sent officers to handle the tree material and it was completed at around 12.50 WIB and traffic was back to normal," he said.

BPBD noted that there were 11 affected people consisting of students, traders, and parents of students in the incident.

All victims have been treated on site and are confirmed to be safe without any casualties.
